Myers Weekly Prayer Letter

Yesterday the Swazi Team celebrated the 4th of July. The Jordans and the Myers enjoyed wonderful (winter) weather as we grilled and picnicked outside. We also invited another American friend that lives in Tshaneni to join us. What a wonderful day of celebration!
We also celebrate and are thankful for each of you who support us through prayer!! We so appreciate you!!
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. I Cor. 13:14

Abiding in Christ was the theme of the Bible studies for the Swazi Baptist ladies (Lubumbo and Shiselweni regions) led by retired missionary June Mason June 29-July 1. Approximately 100 ladies and two pastors attended. Everyone listened as the Word was taught and requested to hear more even when there was no more time. Praise the Lord for the time June spent with these ladies. Please continue to pray the Swazi Baptist women will find true hope in following and depending upon the Lord for their families’ needs. The National Swazi Baptist Ladies’ Retreat is scheduled for October 14-16. “I Will Cry Unto the Lord” is the theme. Please pray the Swazi Baptist women will make preparations to attend this annual event.

***Did you know???
What are the two central objectives of missionary labors?

PLEASE PRAY FOR THESE FUTURE EVENTS
-A major training event for pastors and lay leaders of the Shiselweni and Lubumbo regions scheduled for July 23-24 has been postponed until sometime in September. Pray a suitable date will be found for this training. Pray the pastors and leaders will make a point to attend this special time of training.

--July 31st, the Shiselweni Association will meet at the Velebantfu Baptist Church. Pray as the churches come together to plan and fellowship. Pray for a sense of unity and harmony.

--Imagine children running, laughing, singing, reading, praying, coloring reciting the books of the Bible and other fun things and you have imagined the annual Swazi Baptist Children’s camps. The 2010 camps’ theme is “Let Us Talk to God.” The first camp is August 16-19 at the Mafucala Secondary School and the second camp will meet at the New Hope Baptist Church (Shiselweni region) on August 30-September 1. Please pray Swazi Baptist churches in these two areas will send their children to these two camps. Pray each child attending will experience a new awakening of Christ’s love in his/her life.

--The 2010 National Youth Camp is scheduled for August 26-29. A volunteer team from Belton, Texas (First Baptist) will lead. Pray those who attend will leave feeling the presence of the Savior and will daily strive to seek His face. Pray for Grant and Jenna, Brett, Courney and Daphne as they prepare for this awesome ministry.

---October 7th, Todd and Deborah Hoskins (2 year missionaries) arrive in Swaziland to begin their work in the Manzini region as well as develop rural training schools. Pray for Todd and Deborah as they prepare to come and minister with the Swazi Team. On the 16th of July friends of Todd and Deborah will give them a farewell party. Pray this will be a time of encouragement and joy!

AIDS UPDATE:
As the Swazi Team begins to seek ways to meet the needs of the AIDS victims and their families, pray the Team will be open to being led by the Lord in developing ministries to help AIDS orphans as well as AIDS victims.

WORLD CUP IN SOUTH AFRICA
June 11-July 11, 2010
This is the last week of the World Cup. There were 32 countries participating and we have focused on a few of these. We will continue until all 32 countries have been the focus for prayer support.
This week’s Country Focus is NORTH KOREA:
-Pray for the safety of North Korean Christians and that they would remain faithful to the Lord under immense pressure. Pray for boldness to share their faith.
-Pray also for Christians in prison camps, they would be able to endure suffering, and forgive those who have hurt them.
-Pray for Christians in China and South Korea who strategically find ways of smuggling the gospel into North Korea, as well as helping North Korean Christians to escape oppression.
(Information from The Ultimate Goal (TUG) a project of SASCOL and is the outreach initiative taking place during June and July 2010. TUG is a network of local and international churches, para-church organizations and ministries all working together on one common goal: to bring hope and change to South Africa.)

I will not doubt, though all my ships at sea
come drifting home with broken masts and sails;
I shall believe the hand which never fails,
from seeming evil worketh good to me.
And, though I weep because those sails are battered,
still will I cry, while my best hopes lie shattered,
“I trust in thee.”

The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord; he is the stronghold in time of trouble. Psalm 37:39

****Can you help us?? Moving to Tshaneni has limited our email capabilities. We are not able to access large files (anything over 500km is a problem) and therefore ask that you do not send large files to us. It takes forever to download (if we can at all), we pay for every second we are on line and large files hinder us from receiving our other messages. Thank you!!
