Myers Weekly Prayer Letter - October 26

THE MYERS HIT THE ROAD TO NORTH CAROLINA!!
Friday, 23rd of October we caught our flight to North Carolina to spend two weeks in this beautiful state, the first week (Oct. 23-30) in South Roanoke Association and(October 31-November 6) in the Atlantic Association. Both of these associations have been faithful in their support of the Swazi Team and the work with the Swazi people. Many volunteer teams have been sent from these associations as well. We have developed wonderful relationships with many of the people and always look forward to our time of reconnecting and being together.
--Sunday (25th) we shared about our ministry in two churches in which we had never visited before (and it was quite exciting). Both pastors of these churches had been on volunteer teams to Swaziland.
--In the am service we were with the Swan Quarter Baptist Church. Their interim pastor, Jimmy Johnson has been many times to Swaziland and his daughters Hunter and Brinkley ministered with the Swazi Team in June and July. We had a wonderful time of sharing with a “potluck” meal following. Saturday night we were reunited with Brinkley and Hunter (traveling from their perspective colleges). What a fun time!!
--In the pm service we joined the Acorn Baptist Church whose pastor was in Swaziland in April 2008 in the northwest section of the country. It was a joy to meet the pastor’s mother, (89 years of age) a devoted Christian and a former volunteer to Brazil!!
---We so appreciated these two opportunities to be with congregations that support their pastors in their volunteer trips!!

Monday 26th is a special dinner and fellowship at the First Baptist Church of Washington for all those from the South Roanoke Association who have been a part of a volunteer team to Swaziland.
Please pray many blessings will continue to come from the Swazi Team-South Roanoke relationship. The South Roanoke and the Swazi Team have entered a partnership to evangelize the northeast section of the country. Pray as future volunteer teams begin planning their time of ministry in Swaziland!!
--In February 16-March 2, The First Baptist Church, Washington is scheduled to send a volunteer team to the northeast section of the country. Pray for this group, led by their pastor (Jimmy Moore) as they spiritually prepare for the work the Lord has given them in Swaziland.

--Please continue to pray for us as we share with the First Baptist Church, Washington on Wednesday as well as the New Discovery Baptist Church on Tuesday.

PRAYER REQUESTS UPDATES:
-Please continue to pray Sarah Warren’s blurry vision in her right eye will go away!! Pray for Sarah as she continues to wear the eye patch.

Please continue to pray for direction on employment/ministry opportunities for Bert Warren. The Lord has blessed Lisa with a part-time secretarial job with a Baptist church in her area. Pray for Lisa’s parents as they adjust to moving into the Warren’s home and for her father’s continued improvement and rehabilitation.

MEDICAL PRAYER REQUESTS:
-Pray for my niece’s husband’s mother (Debbie Miracle) diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Pray for the Lord’s strength and courage during this difficult time. Pray for the family as they continue to deal with Debbie’s illness.
--Wayne’s brother, Terry he is currently in remission but has been told the cancer will return and must have follow-up tests every three months. Please pray for Terry and his wife Darlene as they continue to deal with the effects of the cancer and the general prognosis. Pray Terry will continue to be in remission.

AIDS UPDATE:
The Swazi Team continues to deal with the issue of True Love Waits presenters allowing the Swazi culture and tradition to control their lives. Some of these individuals elected by their church to be trained to present the True Love message of abstinence and Christian living and marriage find themselves in situations that do not reflect the message they were trained to teach. Please continue to pray the Swazi Baptist youth will totally commit their lives to the Lord and His teachings. Especially pray for those trained to teach the TLW message will take this commitment seriously and desire to be a Christian witness to other Swazi youth.

This month Swazis hope to prepare their fields for planting their yearly crop of corn (main diet staple). Planting will not take place until sufficient rain has fallen. Pray every region and area of Swaziland will have enough water to plant their crops and meet the people’s needs.

PRAYER FOR AMERICA:
“As I journey through this life, Lord, help me always to consult the true road map: Your Holy Word. I know that when I turn my heart and thoughts to You, Father, You will lead me along the path that is right for me. And, when our nation’s leaders seek Your will, they will also discover the wisdom of Your Holy Word. Today, dear Lord, let me know Your will and study Your Word, and let America’s leaders fulfill Your plan for our nation. Amen.”

Even after 2,000 years of Christian influence, more than 1.5 billion people are still missing out on the opportunity to hear the Gospel. They are hidden behind cultural, physical, and language barriers to a Gospel witness.
Please pray every person will have chance to hear the Gospel message. Please pray for the Lord’s direction on how you should give the Lottie Moon Christmas offering.
For more information check the
